Academic Advising - Undergraduate Students
Connecting Students with Advisors
Students can contact academic advisors any time via the Virtual Advising Center (VAC). Each advising team's availability is also posted in the VAC's "Meet with Advisor" tab.
Department advisors manage all enrollment (waitlists, prerequisites, pre-authorizations) for courses in the department. Tip: Do not tell students to "contact Student Affairs". Students use that terms for College student life teams and central campus Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs offices (not for academic advisors). Instead, advise students to contact the major advisor in the department if they have course-specific concerns. See the list of department/program advisors and read more about what they can and cannot do.
College advisors help support and connect students with resources across campus. They are often the starting point to address academic concerns that are not course-specific and can help students explore their options. See the list of College advisors and read more about what they can and cannot do.
