Academic Advising for New Students

At UC San Diego, new students receive intentional guidance from academic advisors via online modules and pre-enrollment webinars. Advisors are available online to answer questions all summer as student records are updated by the Office of Admissions. New students will enroll for Fall classes in mid-August.

Important

Beginning June 18, 2025 all students must complete New Triton Advising through the Virtual Advising Center. Log on at VAC.ucsd.edu to review the modules and submit your academic background by July 2.

Students can submit questions to their advisors via the Virtual Advising Center (VAC) after completing New Triton Advising.

These in-person sessions are held in September. Registration begins in June at cor.ucsd.edu. Many Colleges also host pre-enrollment webinars as orientation part 1, typically in August.

Colleges also have online modules through the learning management system Canvas. Students must complete these before attending in-person orientation.
