Guidance for Families 

We know parents, families, and loved ones want to support their students. Due to various federal laws, UC San Diego employees are limited in the information they can provide to anyone — including parents.

Academic advisors cannot share specific information about students without their written consent. This includes course schedules, grades, GPA, attendance, academic integrity or conduct cases, or other academic information.

Academic advisors also do not have access to information about financial aid, bills, housing, dining, or insurance.
