Bachelor's Degree Requirements

An undergraduate bachelor’s degree includes major requirements, general education requirements, and university requirements. Your academic advisors can help you with a degree plan to fit in all requirements.

Major Requirements

General Education

Each College at UC San Diego has its own general education (GE) curriculum. Visit your College’s website (click on the logo below!) or the General Catalog for requirements.

University Requirements

All students must earn:

  • Minimum of 180 units
  • Minimum of 60 upper division units (courses numbered here as 100-199)
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0 (UC courses)
  • Senior Residence Requirement: 35 of final 45 units must be at UC
