UC San Diego UAAC

UC San Diego’s Undergraduate Academic Advising Council (UAAC) is sponsored by the Executive Vice Chancellor–Academic Affairs and the Dean of Undergraduate Education. It is comprised of staff who provide academic advising services at the undergraduate level in academic departments and programs and in the colleges. UAAC includes multiple committee opportunities for advisors to get involved.

UC Undergraduate Academic Advising Council

UCUAAC is a UC systemwide group of Advising Deans and Directors. They leverage collective expertise to work toward changes that help UC advisors and undergraduates have positive, productive experiences in academia. 

NACADA

NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising is the leading association globally for the advancement of student success through excellence in academic advising in higher education.

An annual general membership is $95. Many resources are available without a membership. 

NACADA’s Mission

The Global Community for Academic Advising provides its members with exemplary and innovative opportunities for professional development and personal growth. As a global community promoting student success through academic advising, NACADA's mission revolves around four interconnected key principles:

  • We are inclusive, committed to offering all our members equitable opportunities for professional development and to fostering belongingness in the association.

  • We constitute a veritable community, based on mutual respect, encouragement, and support, thus providing an inviting and stimulating environment for professional development.

Additional Higher Education Professional Associations

  • The California Counseling & Academic Advising Network hosts an annual conference that brings educators from California Community Colleges, the California State University, and the University of California together to create a transparent system that allows students to move seamlessly through California's higher education system, optimizing progress to degree completion and eliminating the achievement gap.
