UCSD HR: Staff Learning and Development

UC San Diego HR offers classes and special programs for employees through Staff Learning & Development

Watch previous Learning Boost Series' talks, available on the Learning Boost Series playlist on YouTube. Topics include conversations about change, resiliency, removing silos, team culture, and translating vision into strategy.

Additional offerings include: Excel training, supervisory training lab, and project management. Most programs require a fee. However, check out the Project Management Practical Training Program, a free program requiring 24 hours across four months.

UCSD HR: Career Connection

Career Connection is a free, comprehensive career development program for UC San Diego staff. It provides information and tools to assist you in achieving greater job satisfaction, current job enhancement, and lateral or upward career mobility. All UC San Diego staff employees, retirees, and individuals on lay-off status are eligible to join Career Connection.

UCSD Mentorship Programs

UC San Diego Staff Mentorship Program 

The free program matches mentors and mentees based on their interests and experiences with the goal of preparing mentees to grow in their careers and become leaders in their field. 

Chicanx/Latinx Staff Association 

The Chicanx/Latinx Staff Association (C/LSA) focuses on providing activities and opportunities to assist in the retention, professional development, and promotion of Chicanx/Latinx staff at UCSD. They also offer a mentorship program.

SkillScan Online & Gartner

SkillScan Online

Provided free through UC San Diego Human Resources. This is an interactive and engaging process for identifying transferable skills to help with career planning and changes, professional development, and self-marketing for a job search.

Gartner Training Resources for All Staff

All UC employees can access free online leadership, management and employee resources through UC’s subscription to Gartner.
